There are three immigration programs/classifications within the Express Entry Program. Imagine there is a huge swimming pool with three water slides, a red one, a blue one and a yellow one. You enter the top of the slides from the swimming pool and slide down. Express entry is the swimming pool and the slides are the three programs to get you to Permanent Residency at the bottom of the slide. At the top of the slide, there is a gate with a security guard, you can only slide down if the guard calls you and opens the gate. The guard is Citizenship & Immigration Canada.
