Canadian Immigration DID NOT end when I became a Canadian Citizen

Updated: May 12

Just months after becoming a Canadian citizen, Kristina was six months pregnant when the pandemic shut the world down. Her mother boarded a plane to Canada just before the borders closed, only to land and be told she had to leave immediately. What followed were days of uncertainty, lawyers, hearings, and the realization that citizenship did not automatically create stability, community, or support.

This opening episode explores what happens when immigrant mothers are forced to rebuild their village from scratch. Through heartfelt conversations with her mother and daughter, Kristina reflects on separation, resilience, community, and the emotional realities of immigration that policies and paperwork often fail to capture.

They say it takes a village... But what happens when you leave the village behind?

If you’ve ever had to rebuild community from scratch, this conversation is for you.
