How to Use This Course Optimally

Updated: Feb 15

With this extensive online course, you can write a truly convincing resume (CV) for your job applications in Canada.

Here are a few important hints on how to make the most of it:

  1. Depending on where you are from in the world, you may be more accustomed to the term CV (curriculum vitae) as the name of such a document that presents your work experience. While this is certainly correct in terms of the English language in general, the use of the term CV is not common in Canada where this type of document is usually referred to as resume. Therefore, always use that expression whenever you write or talk about it.

  2. While the very correct spelling of the word "résumé" is actually exactly so, you will frequently notice that people just spell it "resume". That still counts as correct and you can therefore use the simplified version too if you prefer. However, whatever version of spelling you choose, always stick to your decision and do not mix the two as it would look less professional and might be perceived as a lack of attention to detail.

  3. The course is divided into 9 lessons. This allows you to implement my many tips and tricks in your own resume in small, manageable steps. In each lesson, my concrete examples, instructions, and tasks will help you to put the theory into practice.

  4. Please take my instructions in the individual lessons seriously and try to implement them as accurately and thoroughly as possible in your document. The result will be a resume that can truly convince recruiters and hiring manager of your knowledge, skills, and experience.

Thank you very much, that's all. You are ready to start with the first lesson. I wish you the best of luck with your work on this very important document!
